Ian is the co-founder of Warwick and together with Alfredo is jointly responsible for all of Warwick’s investment management activities. Ian has over 30 years’ experience of investing in European distressed debt and special situations. Before founding Warwick, Ian was jointly responsible for the credit strategy at Polygon Investment Partners, and prior to that, he was a partner and European head of MatlinPatterson, a distressed-for-control private equity firm. Ian has also held investment and banking roles at Credit Suisse, WestLB, and Samuel Montagu.
Ian holds a MA in History from Cambridge University (St John’s College) and is a chartered accountant.
Alfredo is the co-founder of Warwick and together with Ian is jointly responsible for all of Warwick’s investment management activities. Alfredo has over 25 years’ experience of investing in European distressed debt and special situations. Before founding Warwick, Alfredo was at Polygon Investment Partners, where he was responsible for building and jointly managing its global distressed and special situations credit business. Prior to that, he was responsible for proprietary distressed and special situations investments at Barclays Capital and worked within the high yield and distressed group at Credit Suisse. Alfredo began his career at Price Waterhouse.
Alfredo holds a BA cum laude degree in Accounting from Syracuse University, is a Certified Public Accountant and CFA Charterholder.
Matthew is Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the firm’s operations, finance, and compliance. Prior to joining Warwick in 2010, Matthew was Head of Treasury at James Caird Asset Management, Peloton Partners and CQS Management. He also previously worked at Citadel. Matthew has over 25 years’ experience in treasury and operations.
Matthew holds a BA in Applied Economics from the University of Hertfordshire.
Ryan is a credit analyst for Warwick’s Performing Credit platform with a focus on the Technology sector. Prior to joining Warwick in 2023, Ryan spent 13 years at HPS Investment Partners where he served as a Managing Director – Senior Research Analyst in the Liquid Credit Platform. Ryan joined HPS from Stanfield Capital, a leading asset manager of Alternative Fixed Income Strategies concentrating on non-investment grade loans. During his seven years at Stanfield, Ryan served in various capacities including as a credit analyst across multiple sectors. Ryan started his career at Citigroup in the US Par and Distressed Loan Group.
Ryan holds a BS cum laude in Economics from Boston University.
Brian is Head of Research for Warwick’s Performing Credit platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, he was at Insight Investment where he led the credit research team supporting Insight’s CLO business, loan funds, high-yield bonds and global infrastructure investments and was a member of Insight’s Corporate Credit Committee. Brian has held senior roles at several CLO platforms including Silvermine Capital Management, where he was a Partner, Kingland Capital, Katonah Capital and Fuji Bank. Brian began his career at Chase Manhattan Bank where he received his formal credit training.
Brian holds a BA in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA in Finance from the Leonard Stern School of Business at New York University.
Santiago focuses on healthcare coverage for Warwick’s Performing Credit platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, Santiago was a senior analyst and junior Portfolio Manager at Intermediate Capital Group supporting CLO, loan funds, and high-yield investments. Prior to that, he worked in the High Income Group at Fidelity Management & Research and at RBC Capital Markets as part of their credit opportunities team.
Santiago holds a BBA in Finance and an MBA in Finance from St. Bonaventure University.
James is an investment professional focused primarily on European special situations. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, James was an associate at The SCP Group where he worked on European Private Equity opportunities. Prior to that, he was an analyst in the Restructuring and M&A teams at Lazard.
James holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of York.
James is Head of Operations and responsible for the firm’s portfolio operations. Prior to joining Warwick in 2010, James worked in sales trading at Cantor Fitzgerald and as an operations manager at Polygon Investment Partners.
James holds a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
Kevin focuses on Business Services and Industrials for Warwick's performing credit platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2023, he was a Senior Analyst at Investcorp supporting US CLO and loan funds. Prior experience also includes third-party CLO equity / tranche investing and middle-market lending out of Medley Capital's BDCs and SMAs. He began his career at KPMG where he performed valuations on a broad set of credit-oriented alternative assets.
Kevin holds a BA in Accounting and a Masters in Accounting & Consulting from Villanova University. He is a licensed CPA in the State of New York.
Alvaro is an investment professional focused primarily on European special situations. Prior to joining Warwick in 2016, Alvaro worked within the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey and started his career at Barclays in 2012.
Alvaro holds a BA in Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from ICADE.
Nestle is a fund accountant within the firm’s Finance team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, Nestle worked in the fund accounting team at SS&C, Wells Fargo Global Fund Services and JP Morgan Chase where she started in 2009.
Nestle holds a BSc in Accountancy with Cum Laude honours from Baliuag University.
Mhairi is responsible for various investor relations activities. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, she worked in the Client Service team at Ardevora Asset Management and at Egerton Capital.
Mhairi has a BA Hons in History from the University of Stirling.
Leland is Portfolio Manager and CIO for Warwick’s Performing Credit Platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, Leland was at Alcentra where he was Co-Chief Investment Officer and sat on the US Liquid (Loans and High Yield) Investment Committee, the US Direct Lending Committee, the European Liquid (Loans and High Yield) Investment Committee, and the firm’s Executive Management Committee. Prior to Alcentra, Leland was a Managing Director, overseeing loans and CLOs at BlackRock Asset Management and held positions as a Managing Director in the Leveraged Capital Markets Group of Lehman Brothers as well as Continental Bank (Bank of America).
Leland holds a BA Cum Laude from Middlebury College and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago. He was a Board Member of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association and also served as Vice Chairman.
Peter works within the firm’s Operations team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2023, Peter worked as an Operations Analyst at Pyrford International Ltd and as an Analyst in the Trade Support Team at Capital Group.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from the Letterkenny Institute of Technology, Ireland.
Matthew is a Partner and focuses primarily on European special situations. Prior to joining Warwick in 2010, Matthew was on the credit team at Polygon Investment Partners, and in the proprietary Distressed and Special Situations team at Barclays Capital where he started his career in 2001.
Matthew holds an MPhys degree in Physics with Astrophysics from Southampton University.
Thomas is a credit analyst for Warwick’s Performing Credit platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, he led the Leveraged Finance enterprise valuation and risk management groups at Sumitomo Mitsui Bank. Thomas held senior roles at several buy-side and sell-side firms including Sound Point Capital Management, Par-Four Investment Management, UBS, Lehman Brothers, Nomura and Natixis. He began his career at The Bank of New York where he received his formal credit training.
Thomas holds a BA from Williams College, an MBA in Accounting from New York University and is a CFA charterholder.
Zip is a Partner and the General Counsel at Warwick and is responsible for all legal workstreams within the investment team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2018, Zip spent ten years at Akin Gump LLP (formerly Bingham McCutchen LLP) as a restructuring and insolvency lawyer representing investment managers in relation to strategic and legal issues concerning their distressed debt and special situation investments.
Zip holds a Double First degree in Law from Cambridge University (St. John’s College), a Distinction from the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice (LPC) and a Masters in Law from Harvard Law School.
Massyl is an investment professional focused primarily on European special situations as well as the firm’s energy and energy transition strategies. Prior to joining Warwick in 2017, Massyl worked within the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey for over five years.
Massyl holds an BCom degree with a Major in Finance and a Concentration in Accounting from McGill University.
Ruby is the Administrative Assistant to the US-based team and manages the Stamford, CT office. Prior to joining Warwick in 2023, Ruby was an administrative assistant at BlackRock for 13 years.
Ruby holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Washington and Jefferson College.
Karolina is responsible for working with investors across business development and investor relations. Prior to joining Warwick in 2016, Karolina was at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and previously worked at a tech startup accelerator.
Karolina holds a first class MSc degree in Finance and Investments from Aston University.
Nick focuses on the technology, media, and telecom (TMT) sector for Warwick’s performing credit platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2023, he spent ten years as a credit analyst for AIG Credit Management. Previously, Nick worked at Coker Capital doing boutique M&A advisory, Convey Health Solutions in a variety of finance roles, and at Wachovia’s investment bank.
Nick holds a BBA in Finance from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Sam manages research and information within the investment team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2011, Sam held information management roles at Polygon Investment Partners, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and the Guardian newspaper.
Sam holds an MSc in Information and Knowledge Management from London Metropolitan University and a MA in History from the University of Warwick.
Ben works within the firm’s Operations team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, Ben worked on the Investment Operations team at Ruffer LLP and worked within the Trading Operations team at Equiti Capital.
Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Bournemouth University.
Chris is responsible for Business Development and Investor Relations in North America. Prior to joining Warwick in 2023, Chris was the Chief Commercial Officer at Alcentra where he was responsible for global distribution, investor relations and product management. Prior to Alcentra, he was a Managing Director in the Private Capital Advisory business within Lazard where he served as the Global Head of Private Credit fundraising, and prior to that, was a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking division and Head of Credit Suisse Capital Services in the Americas. Chris has also held various capital raising and allocation roles at Goldman Sachs, Forester Capital, and UBS.
Chris holds a BA in Economics from Denison University, and an MBA in Finance from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Kei is responsible for Capital Markets and Structuring within Warwick’s Performing Credit platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2021, Kei was the Head of Quantitative Analytics in the Structured Products Group at MUFG Securities. Kei’s past experience also includes research at S&P Ratings as well as structuring and marketing of structured products at Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.
Kei holds a BSc degree in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and is a CFA Charterholder.
Helen is a fund accountant within the firm’s Finance team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2017, Helen worked at SS&C, Wells Fargo Global Fund Services and Lacrosse Global Fund Services.
Helen holds an MA degree in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and is ACCA qualified.
Ritesh is a Portfolio Manager and leveraged loan trader for Warwick's Performing Credit platform. Prior to joining Warwick in 2022, Ritesh was a Vice President at Alcentra where his responsibilities included CLO portfolio management, leveraged loan trading, and credit research. Ritesh joined Alcentra in 2014 from Deloitte where he was in the valuation and modeling group analysing and pricing a wide range of structured credit products as well as CLO analysis and compliance duties.
Ritesh holds a BS in Business Administration with focuses in Finance and International Marketing from American University.
Kimberley is the office manager for the London office. Prior to joining Warwick in 2014, Kimberley was in office administration at Accor in Australia, a lease extension coordinator at Motability Operations, and a sales advisor at Westhill Insurance Brokers.
Shanil is a Partner and focuses primarily on European special situations. Prior to joining Warwick in 2012, Shanil worked as a desk analyst on the High Yield & Distressed Trading desk at Goldman Sachs. Prior to that, he worked in the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey. Shanil started his career in 2006 at Lehman Brothers where he was in the Leveraged Finance team.
Shanil holds a BSc degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Iniabasi is a fund accountant within the firm's Finance team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2023, Iniabasi worked in the financial accounting team and then fund controlling team at Goldman Sachs where he started in 2021.
Iniabasi holds the part ACA qualification and a BSc (Hons) in International Business from Loughborough University.
Andrew is a Partner and leads energy and energy transition investments. He worked as a consultant to Warwick from 2012 to 2022, contributing to its investment activity and business development in the US, and joined the firm as a partner in 2022. Prior to working with Warwick, Andrew was a senior portfolio manager at Polygon Investment Partners, responsible for the US credit business across distressed situations and loans. Andrew also held positions at Nomura, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, and BNP Paribas in London, and started his career with WR Huff Asset Management as a high yield analyst in 1996.
Andrew holds a BA in Economics from Bucknell University.
Catherine is responsible for the firm’s business development and investor relations. Prior to joining Warwick in 2021, Catherine was at Värde Partners where she led business development in EMEA and then a new co-investment program, and prior to that, was a Vice President in Investor Relations at D. E. Shaw & Co.
Catherine holds a BA magna cum laude in English and American Language and Literature from Harvard University and a MFA in Acting from the University of Washington.
Clara is a fund accountant within the firm’s Finance team. Prior to joining Warwick in 2019, Clara was at JP Morgan as a finance lead on a credit hedge fund. Clara’s prior experience includes investment banking accounting and controller as well as big four auditing.
Clara holds the CPA Australia qualification and a BSc in Business with a major in Accountancy from Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
